The different styles of hip-hop music include gangster, rap, g-funk, east coast, west coast, dirty south, Midwest and more.
Each style as its own distinct feel to it and greatly relates to what is going on in the communities in that area. Each style sounds distinctly different to the others. Commercial hip-hop tends to sound similar to each other, which is why it tends to stay popular. Hip hop has taken off all over the world and tends to be a growing all over the world in different societies. Australia, Germany, France and Asia are just a few places that have a large growing hip hop culture. The negative publicity didn’t hinder hip hop’s success, though. In the 2000s the hip hop scene has become widely accepted and even seen blended with other music styles as well. Hip hop isn’t JUST music. It isn’t JUST a culture. It isn’t even JUST a movement. It’s a part of our everday lives now, whether you like it or not. It’s on our radios, viewed on our televisions and seen in our art. The culture has grown into something of a phenomenon with how quickly it has become popular in such a short amount of time. With other music and cultures already having a strong following, the idea that something can come along and gain so much momentum is very exciting.
