Incredible Encounter with the King of Pop

MD, who’s a friend, guided a private tour of the Louvre for Michael Jackson together with his kids. This is a testament of a rare encounter.

My friend MD was working at the Louvre. One day he received a call asking him:”hey, could you please take charge of Michael Jackson for a private tour of the Louvre?”. No doubt, he would! And it was an experience of a lifetime.

As soon as Michael arrived along with two children and body guards, MD didn’t know what to expect. He already had the experience of meeting big names like Mick Jagger, Bruce Willis, and numerous politicians requesting private tour.This one was very different. Different because MJ remained kid at heart. Playing in the escalators of the Louvre, running the opposite way, he had fun in the corridors, playing hide and seek. “He was very smiley and gentle with everyone” MD said, “I’ve never met someone like him ever”. “I couldn’t believe how sensitive he was.” “When he liked a picture, he was so moved he would start crying. Like facing the Mona Lisa, we had to make a break for him to recover”. Now that the King of Pop is no longer with us, perhaps, it’s time for us to think of our collective share of obligations in the way he became. Little boy Michael never had the opportunity of having a normal life. He hardly had to open a door, someone opening it before him. We are even uncertain if he ever had a choice. He might have had the normal life of a little child, being a singer and a dancer without this worldwide show business pressure on him.

Was he someone to be envied, or was he just an unlucky boy consumed up by the system because of his superb and unique ability? “He just had an amazing and immense charisma”, MD recalls. “I can’t imagine I am waving my hand back at Michael Jackson, twisted on his taxi seat waving at me like I was a friend. I instantly became a fan, he was just an exceptional human being”.

Now MD working in another museum, shared with us the image of the empty halls of the Louvre where Michael Jackson would be to never stroll again.
